From my breadth of experience, I believe better project outcomes begin long before execution. Across a career spanning global chemicals, refining, plastics, technology, R&D, manufacturing, strategy, and capital project capability, I have observed the difference that disciplined leadership and early clarity can make. I have also experienced how quickly uncertainty becomes expensive when teams move forward without alignment, readiness, or a clear understanding of risk.
My work is rooted in gratitude for the leaders, colleagues, teams, and communities who provided me with opportunities to have such a wide range of experiences and shaped my judgment over numerous projects in 36 years and 18 businesses. Their lessons continue to guide the way I serve clients today: listen carefully, ask sharper questions, translate technical complexity into business consequence, and help sponsors and teams make wise choices before momentum becomes costly.
I have designed Taylor Pearson Consulting to offer more than recommendations. Through this consulting firm, I will be a steady, independent voice for practical wisdom, courageous decision-making, and stronger teamwork. Case 1: Investing Capital for Growth.
Major capital projects are defining moments for any business. They require significant capital, executive attention, and organizational commitment. For a business preparing to advance a strategic capital investment tied to growth, I participated in developing business strategy that recommended investment, served on the Steering Committee of the capital project, and provided resources and technical assurance to the engineering work and start-up over the four-year effort. The asset was completed and provided a new platform for production to capture the growth profitably.
Case 2: Unlocking Value from Existing Assets.
Within a corporation, I supported efforts to improve performance of an existing production asset where the business opportunity was significant, but the execution path constrained. The work required disciplined evaluation before investment: the technical team assessed how technology and operating insights could be applied to improve cost, reliability, flexibility, process and product capability, and operability. By connecting business value, asset knowledge, technical discipline, and execution readiness, the business was able to deploy capital to achieve significant returns.
Case 3: Using a Global Team to Develop Strategy.
In a competitive global market, leadership needed a strategy team it could trust with decisions that will shape the future of the business. I served on such a corporate strategy team. With leaders from business, sales, supply chain, manufacturing, and technology, we evaluated products, markets, megatrends, regulations, geopolitics, and customer needs. The work was translated into capital choices, asset realignment, modifications, and partnerships, giving leaders confidence that strategy was tied to markets, assets, technology, execution, and financial value.
